4-Year-Old Girl Kidnapped, Beaten, Raped And Strangled
Logansport, IN - At some point early Sunday (Sunday reviews) morning, a 4-year-old child was either abducted from her home or had wandered away and unwittingly met up with a real-life monster. According to authorities, the child was taken to a nearby garage where she was beaten, raped, strangled and left for dead.
Fortunately she survived the terrifying and painful ordeal. A witness reported seeing the child, crying and dressed in a filthy nightgown, walking down the street at about 6:30 a.m. When he asked her if she was okay, she told him she was, “walking home.” He watched as she walked into the home of her mother’s boyfriend, where she and her family were staying. The girl’s mother, Crystal, said she discovered the injuries at about 8:45 a.m. and called police. The child was treated at the hospital for injuries to her throat and face, as well as other parts of her body. A DNA sample was collected and the child was released Sunday evening. Though police have interviewed a person of interest, a registered sex offender, no arrests have been made.
The child’s mother told investigators that she and her boyfriend went to bed late Saturday (Saturday reviews) night and left the kids, ages 3, 4 and 8, watching TV in the living room. She last saw the little girl at about 3:00 a.m. - she was sleeping. “You watch for their safety but you don’t go to bed at night and wake up to something like that.” She says the girl is doing ok, considering the circumstances. “She doesn’t sleep very well at all. She’s (She reviews) scared when it gets dark. She gets scared,” Crystal said. “We just hug her and hold her and it’s just happy times we want her to think about - happy times.”
Based on information from the child, investigators are focusing their search on one particular garage in the neighborhood. The owners of said garage have been questioned and are not considered suspects. It has been reported that there are nearly 59 sex offenders within a 3 block radius of the home and at least 22 violent sex offenders within a mile. Jesus. Christ.
