Child Safety

Every parent who tells their child, “Don’t talk to strangers,” is performing a disservice that probably causes more harm than good. A confining and negative declaration based on bad information, it is a holdover from a time of limited awareness.

Only 14% of sexual offenders are strangers to their victims, and for male victims under age twelve, 40% of offenders were family members compared with 47% of the offenders of females under age twelve. “Don’t talk to strangers” sends a mixed message to children who watch us consistently converse with strangers, and it eliminates viable safety options such as women, police officers in uniform or other children, to name but a few, for endangered children.

What Children Should Do

- I will always tell my parents where I am going and when I’ll be home and return home before dark.

- I will always play or go places with at least one other person - NOT alone.

- I know my body belongs to me. I will trust my feelings. I will say NO and run away from a situation that doesn’t feel right.

- There are certain kinds of strangers that can assist me when I need help. For instance: mothers with children, other children, police in uniform or store clerks in the mall.

- I will walk and play at places my parents said were OK. I will avoid shortcuts or alleys.

- I will not allow adults to trick or force me into going places or doing things like; help find pets, carry packages, take pictures, play games, or take drugs with them. I will always check with my parents first.

- I will not accept candy, money, gifts or rides from any adult without my parent’s permission.

- I will always lock my home and car doors. I will not tell anyone that I am home alone.

- I will learn to dial 911. I will learn to use the pay phone without money. I will learn my address and phone number.

- I will always walk against traffic on the sidewalk.

What Parents Should Do

- Maintain current ID, including photograph, video and fingerprints.

- Maintain current addresses and phone numbers of your children’s friends.

- It is important to keep all doors and windows locked.

- Do not advertise your child’s name on clothing, school supplies or backpacks.

This story is frightening and almost impossible to believe, but it is true! It is about a little girl, then 3yrs old who was molested by well known people in Lithuania. The father, Drasius Kedys, tried fighting for his daughter the legal way - by going to the police, by contacting the Child protective Services, by going to state prosecutors and … getting nowhere. He then went public. This story brought a huge public interest and resentment toward the Lithuanian authorities. Later the father disappeared. The same day of his disappearance there were two suspects of molesting this little girl killed. The blame was put on the father, who months later was found dead in a very public place. Witnesses say, there were torture marks all over his body, however, the experts hired by the state released a statement saying he died of natural causes. The main suspect is awaiting a trial, however there is another trial in going on - should the girl be returned to the mother, who knew about the molestation of her daughter and played a big part in it herself! The little girl lives with her father’s family right now. This story is full of illogical decisions and incomplete investigations. The media is finding out more and more about this case than the prosecutors (who are obviously covering the pedophile clan) and it is becoming clearer that the arguments presented by the media about the prosecutors hiding evidence regarding this story are true. The decision was made by the court to return the girl to her mother, who sold her daughter to these child molesters for the money and better life. Currently, there people gathering around the house where the little girl is staying in order to protect her from returning to her mother. So we are asking you for help in this case. We need someone to step in and help us to shut this pedophile clan down and bring justice to this girl. Her fathers wish was to never stop fighting for his girls well-being and he is gone! The Lithuanian authorities are not doing their job right. There is corruption going on and it becoming impossible to fight them! Please, get involved!
The pictures and all the information bellow are collected by people who joined a group on facebook (STOP pedofilijai Lietuvoje!) from the media to bring attention to international media so that some one would help us to solve the matter of this horrible incident.
